Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

FACILITY LAYOUT IMPROVEMENT FOR ENHANCING PRODUCTIVITY: AN APPLICATION OF SYSTEMATIC PLANT LAYOUT

open access: yesVallis Aurea, 2019
One of the major prerequisites for effective operations of a manufacturing plant depends on the sufficiency of a good facility layout. A well-planned facility layout enables better utilization of resources and thereby better production control.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Preoperative circulating tumor cells integrated with imaging analysis for prognostic evaluation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detecting circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood before surgery may help predict outcomes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Here, we show when combined with tumor size and lymph node involvement from routine imaging, CTC status identifies high‐risk patients with poorer survival—offering a simple, minimally invasive tool ...

Using Optimization Models for Scheduling in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems

open access: yesSystems, 2016
Companies often use specially-designed production systems and change them from time to time. They produce small batches in order to satisfy specific demands with the least tardiness.
