Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

A possible new approach in the prediction of late gestational hypertension: The role of the fetal aortic intima-media thickness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The aim was to determine the predictive role of combined screening for late-onset gestational hypertension by fetal ultrasound measurements, third trimester uterine arteries (UtAs) Doppler imaging, and maternal history.

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

PREVALENCE AND RISK FACTORS OF GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS (GDM) IN PREGNANT WOMEN: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY.

open access: yesStudent's Journal of Health Research Africa
Background: Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is a growing public health concern with significant implications for both maternal and fetal health. Identifying its prevalence and associated risk factors is essential for timely diagnosis and preventive ...

Perbedaan Luaran Maternal dan Perinatal pada Ibu Bersalin Usia Reproduksi Sehat dan Usia Berisiko

open access: yesJurnal Kesehatan, 2018
The old age mother has a risk to get a complication in pregnancy and parturition much higher than reproductive age mother.  According to Yensi study (2015), that of the 226 women giving birth over the age of 35 years, as many as 125 people (55.3%) had a ...

Targeting the PDK1/c‐Myc/SOX10 Signaling in Oligodendrocytes Alleviates Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reveals that oligodendrocyte homeostasis, mediated by PDK1, is a critical determinant of neuropathic pain (NPP) pathogenesis. Disruption of PDK1 in oligodendrocytes impairs SOX10‐dependent myelination programs through c‐Myc accumulation, leading to disrupted myelination and the pathophysiology of NPP.

Alterations in immunoglobulin levels in uninfected children born to HIV infected women [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Background Immunoglobulin levels are known to be elevated in HIV infected children. However, little is known about the effect of maternal HIV infection and the maternal altered immune system on immunoglobulin levels in uninfected children. As few data

Maternal Preconception Antibiotic Exposure Disrupts Microbial Succession: A Transgenerational Risk for Offspring Gut Mucosal Immaturity and Colitis Susceptibility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and
