Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

How do Socioeconomic Attainment Gaps in Early Mathematical Ability Arise?

open access: yes, 2021
The socioeconomic attainment gap in mathematical ability is evident before children begin school and widens over time. Little is known about why this early attainment gap emerges. Two studies were conducted in 3- and 4-year-olds, to explore four possible

Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...
