A comparison of embedding aggregation strategies in drug–target interaction prediction

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics
The prediction of interactions between novel drugs and biological targets is a vital step in the early stage of the drug discovery pipeline. Many deep learning approaches have been proposed over the last decade, with a substantial fraction of them ...

Weyl metrics and Wiener-Hopf factorization

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We consider the Riemann-Hilbert factorization approach to the construction of Weyl metrics in four space-time dimensions. We present, for the first time, a rigorous proof of the remarkable fact that the canonical Wiener-Hopf factorization of a matrix ...

Mathematical Harmony Analysis

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
Musical chords, harmonies or melodies in Just Intonation have note frequencies which are described by a base frequency multiplied by rational numbers. For any local section, these notes can be converted to some base frequency multiplied by whole positive numbers.

Analysis of Mathematical Resolution Reviewed From Cognitive Style and Mathematical Anxiety of Students in Students of Class VII SMP Frater Makassar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This study aims to 1) description of the mathematical problem solving in terms of cognitive style field-independent (FI) mathematical anxiety and low and high, 2) description of mathematical problem solving in terms of cognitive style field-dependent (FD)

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Power spectrum analysis of staggered quadriphase-shift-keyed signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Mathematical analysis of power spectrum of outputs from high-reliability communication system is used to determine system bandwidth. Analysis provides mathematical relationships of signal power spectrum at output of hard limiter for any type of baseband ...

General analysis of mathematical models for bone remodeling

open access: yes, 2010
Bone remodeling is regulated by pathways controlling the interplay of osteoblasts and osteoclasts. In this work, we apply the method of generalized modelling to systematically analyse a large class of models of bone remodeling.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
