Interdisciplinarity in engineering education: An empirically grounded typology

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Education, Volume 115, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract Background The concept of interdisciplinarity has gained considerable traction in engineering education. However, research has primarily focused on its impact on students' learning experiences and outcomes, while relatively little is known about how engineering teachers conceptualize interdisciplinary education.

Heparin Can Augment Extracellular Vesicle Yield by Inhibiting Reuptake in Donor Cells During Cell Propagation

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
Heparin augments EV yield in culture by inhibiting EV binding to cell‐surface HSPG and masking EV surface. Preventing autocrine and homotypic paracrine EV uptake during cell culture results in EV accumulation and higher yield. Heparin improved EV recovery after storage in NaCl but not in complex media or protein‐rich buffer(Please see Figure 9 for ...

Modular Platform for Recombinant Production of Highly Toxic Bacterial Proteins

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2026.
A modular recombinant production platform based on transient toxin neutralization enables scalable expression and purification of intrinsically toxic proteins. The approach combines natural toxin–immunity interactions with computational protein engineering to expand production of previously intractable proteins.
