Matrix metalloproteinase 3 (stromelysin) activates the precursor for the human matrix metalloproteinase 9.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1992
Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), also known as 92-kDa gelatinase/type IV collagenase, is secreted from neutrophils, macrophages, and a number of transformed cells in zymogen form. Here we report that matrix metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3/stromelysin) is an activator of the precursor of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (proMMP-9).

Matrix metalloproteinase-9 is up-regulated by CCL21/CCR7 interaction via extracellular signal-regulated kinase-1/2 signaling and is involved in CCL21-driven B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell invasion and migration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
4 páginas, 2 figuras -- PAGS nros. 383-386B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) progression is frequently accompanied by clinical lymphadenopathy, and the CCL21 chemokine may play an important role in this process. Indeed, CCR7 (the CCL21 receptor),

Immunocharacterization of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 in canine transmissible venereal tumors

open access: yesBiotechnic & Histochemistry, 2017
Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) are endogenous proteases that are responsible for degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins and cell surface antigens. The breakdown of ECM participates in the local invasion and distant metastases of malignant tumors.

The role of matrix metalloproteinase 9 in immune-mediated skin diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
MMP-9, dependent on zinc, is a key endopeptidase involved in tissue homeostasis, inflammation, and immune-related pathological processes through its role in extracellular matrix degradation and remodeling.

Immunohistochemical Expression of Matrix Metalloprotease-2 and Matrix Metalloprotease-9 in the Disks of Patients with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) are tissue-remodeling enzymes that function during the remodeling process, such as in immune-inflammatory diseases.

Matrix metalloproteinase-9 regulates graft bone resorption.

open access: yesThe Angle orthodontist, 2006
Objective: To explore the relationship between bone resorption and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) expression in autogenous and allogenic bone grafts. Materials and Methods: A total of 18 critical-size (10 x 15 mm) defects were created in rabbit mandibles bilaterally.

Increased Serum Activity of Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 in Patients with Acute Variceal Bleeding

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2012
Background/AimsMatrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-2 and -9 can degrade essential components of vascular integrity. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between those MMPs and variceal bleeding (VB).Methods : Fifteen controls, 12 patients
