Matrix Metalloproteinase-7 and Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 in Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesPediatric Neurology, 2012
Matrix metalloproteinases and their tissue inhibitors play a key role in the pathogenesis of adult-onset multiple sclerosis, and were suggested as biomarkers of response to interferon-β, an established treatment in multiple sclerosis. However, data regarding pediatric population are scarce.

Matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 in mice with ocular toxocariasis

Parasitology Research, 2019
In ocular toxocariasis, Toxocara canis-induced inflammatory reaction can lead to eye destruction and granuloma, which is formed by immune cell infiltration and concurrent extensive remodeling tissue. Herein, the histomorphology of granuloma and proteinase production in the eye of T. canis-infected BALB/c mice were investigated.

Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 in Lung Remodeling

American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology, 2003
Abstract Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 (Gelatinase B, 92-kD type IV collagenase, EC 3.4.24.35) is an MMP that is present in low quantities in the healthy adult lung, but much more abundant in several lung diseases, including asthma, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 in Cerebral Aneurysms

Neurosurgery, 1997
Generalized disruption of arterial wall morphological changes in patients harboring cerebral aneurysms has been documented; however, little is known regarding the pathogenesis of these changes. To explore the role of the elastolytic gelatinase, matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), levels of this enzyme in the wall of intracranial aneurysms were compared
