Matrix Models for Eigenstate Thermalization

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2023
We develop a class of matrix models that implement and formalize the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH) and point out that, in general, these models must contain non-Gaussian corrections in order to correctly capture thermal mean-field theory or ...

Second moment fuzzy-field-theory-like matrix models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We solve a multitrace matrix model approximating the real quartic scalar field theory on the fuzzy sphere and obtain its phase diagram. We generalize this method to models with modified kinetic terms and demonstrate its use by investigating models ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Matrix Models in Homogeneous Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate non-commutative gauge theories in homogeneous spaces G/H. We construct such theories by adding cubic terms to IIB matrix model which contain the structure constants of G.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Probabilistic projections of distributions of kin over the life course [PDF]

open access: yesDemographic Research
BACKGROUND: Mathematical kinship demography is an expanding area of research. Recent papers have explored the expected number of kin a typical individual should experience.

Phenomenological studies in the matrix models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Matrix models are a promising candidate for a nonperturbative formulation of the superstring theory. It is possible to study how the standard model and other phenomenological models appear from the matrix model, and estimate the probability distribution ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Exact Mesonic Vacua From Matrix Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We investigate in detail the structure of mesonic vacua of N=1 U(Nc) supersymmetric gauge theory with Nf flavors from the matrix model. We show that the Witten index from the matrix model calculation agrees with a result from field theoretical analysis ...
