Refined matrix models from BPS counting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We construct a free fermion and matrix model representation of refined BPS generating functions of D2 and D0 branes bound to a single D6 brane, in a class of toric manifolds without compact four-cycles.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Quadrality for supersymmetric matrix models

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We introduce a new duality for N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 1 supersymmetric gauged matrix models. This 0d duality is an order 4 symmetry, namely an equivalence between four different theories, hence we call it Quadrality.

Interpolating matrix models for WLZZ series

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
We suggest a two-matrix model depending on three (infinite) sets of parameters which interpolates between all the models proposed in Wang et al. (Eur Phys J C 82:902, arXiv:2206.13038 , 2022) and defined there through W-representations.

Pseudo-hermitian random matrix models: General formalism

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2022
Pseudo-hermitian matrices are matrices hermitian with respect to an indefinite metric. They can be thought of as the truncation of pseudo-hermitian operators, defined over some Krein space, together with the associated metric, to a finite dimensional ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Demography and structures population of Actinostemon concolor (Spreng.) Müll. Arg. (Euphorbiaceae) in flooded areas in Southern Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2013
The aim of this work was to analyze the size and spatial structures and demography of Actinostemon concolor (Spreng.) Müll. Arg. (Euphorbiaceae) in the flooded areas of Mata dos Godoy State Park.

Harer-Zagier formulas for knot matrix models

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
Knot matrix models are defined so that the averages of characters are equal to knot polynomials. From this definition one can extract single trace averages and generation functions for them in the group rank – which generalize the celebrated Harer-Zagier

Matrix models of 2d gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
These are introductory lectures for a general audience that give an overview of the subject of matrix models and their application to random surfaces, 2d gravity, and string theory. They are intentionally 1.5 years out of date. 0.
