Second moment fuzzy-field-theory-like matrix models
We solve a multitrace matrix model approximating the real quartic scalar field theory on the fuzzy sphere and obtain its phase diagram. We generalize this method to models with modified kinetic terms and demonstrate its use by investigating models ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Probabilistic projections of distributions of kin over the life course [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Mathematical kinship demography is an expanding area of research. Recent papers have explored the expected number of kin a typical individual should experience.

It is possible that the hierarchy in the masses and mixing of quarks is a result of a horizontal symmetry. The smallness of various parameters is related to their suppression by high powers of a scale of new physics. We analyze in detail the structure of such symmetries in view of new experimental data and present explicit models consistent with all ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Matrix models for beta ensembles [PDF]
This paper constructs tridiagonal random matrix models for general (β>0) β-Hermite (Gaussian) and β-Laguerre (Wishart) ensembles. These generalize the well-known Gaussian and Wishart models for β=1,2,4. Furthermore, in the cases of the β-Laguerre ensembles, we eliminate the exponent quantization present in the previously known models. We further

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

We propose a hybrid class of theories for higher spin gravity and matrix models, i.e., which handle simultaneously higher spin gravity fields and matrix models.
