Matrix Models on Large Graphs

open access: yes, 1993
We consider the spherical limit of multi-matrix models on regular target graphs, for instance single or multiple Potts models, or lattices of arbitrary dimension. We show, to all orders in the low temperature expansion, that when the degree of the target

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Strings, Matrix Models, and Meanders

open access: yes, 1995
I briefly review the present status of bosonic strings and discretized random surfaces in D>1 which seem to be in a polymer rather than stringy phase.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Permutation invariant Gaussian matrix models

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2019
Permutation invariant Gaussian matrix models were recently developed for applications in computational linguistics. A 5-parameter family of models was solved.

Integrability and Matrix Models [PDF]

open access: yesUspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 1994
The theory of matrix models is reviewed from the point of view of its relation to integrable hierarchies. Discrete 1-matrix, 2-matrix, ``conformal'' (multicomponent) and Kontsevich models are considered in some detail, together with the Ward identites (``W-constraints''), determinantal formulas and continuum limits, taking one kind of models into ...

Matrix models for beta ensembles [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2002
This paper constructs tridiagonal random matrix models for general (β>0) β-Hermite (Gaussian) and β-Laguerre (Wishart) ensembles. These generalize the well-known Gaussian and Wishart models for β=1,2,4. Furthermore, in the cases of the β-Laguerre ensembles, we eliminate the exponent quantization present in the previously known models. We further

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Random matrix models for phase diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We describe a random matrix approach that can provide generic and readily soluble mean-field descriptions of the phase diagram for a variety of systems ranging from QCD to high-T_c materials.
