Nanolayer‐Encapsulated Stretchable Liquid‐Metal Sheets for Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A stretchable liquid metal sheet with both high thermal conductivity and mechanical flexibility is developed. Its trilayer structure, comprising copper‐particle‐dispersed gallium liquid metal encapsulated by styrene‐butadiene‐styrene nanosheets, shows 40.4 W m−1 K−1 conductivity, elongation exceeding 200%, and retention of 96% of its initial ...

A Legendre tau-Spectral Method for Solving Time-Fractional Heat Equation with Nonlocal Conditions

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
We develop the tau-spectral method to solve the time-fractional heat equation (T-FHE) with nonlocal condition. In order to achieve highly accurate solution of this problem, the operational matrix of fractional integration (described in the Riemann ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Two Efficient Generalized Laguerre Spectral Algorithms for Fractional Initial Value Problems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We present a direct solution technique for approximating linear multiterm fractional differential equations (FDEs) on semi-infinite interval, using generalized Laguerre polynomials.

Biointerface Membranes Orchestrating Site‐Specific Osteoimmunomodulatory and Antibacterial Effects for Enhanced Osseous Regeneration in Periodontal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, a biointerface membrane engineered with site‐specific interfacial properties is developed. During implantation between gingival and bone defect, the membrane creates a pro‐osteogenic microenvironment, precisely modulates cellular activities at each biointerface, and facilitates the orchestration of complex healing events, ultimately leading to ...

Bio‐Inspired Magnetically Tunable Structural Colors from Elliptical Self‐Assembled Block Copolymer Microparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

Carbon Contacts to Proteins Enable Robust, Biocompatible Electronic Junctions with Near‐Activation‐less Conduction Down to 10 K

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A robust solid‐state protein junction with a semi‐transparent eC/Au electrode allows photoexcitation of the bacterio‐rhodopsin, bR layer, to isomerize the bR retinal. The resulting photo‐response shows the protein is functional in the solid‐state junction.

Initial Boundary Value Problem for the Coupled Kundu Equations on the Half-Line

open access: yesAxioms
In this article, the coupled Kundu equations are analyzed using the Fokas unified method on the half-line. We resolve a Riemann–Hilbert (RH) problem in order to illustrate the representation of the potential function in the coupled Kundu equations.

Digraph Spectral Clustering with Applications in Distributed Sensor Validation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2014
In various sensor networks, the performances of sensors vary significantly over time, due to the changes of surrounding environment, device hardware, and so forth. Hence, monitoring the status is essential in sensor network maintenance.

Spectral behavior of matrix sequences and discretized boundary value problems

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2001
The author investigates the spectral behavior of sequences of matrices increasing in size and then applies the results to the important question of discretization of elliptic boundary value problems with a sparsely vanishing coefficient. The preconditioning problem is treated as a constraint approximation. The author also recalls the Szegő-Tyrtyshnikov
