Optimizations of Human Restraint Systems for Short-Period Acceleration [PDF]
A restraint system's main function is to restrain its occupant when his vehicle is subjected to acceleration. If the restraint system is rigid and well-fitting (to eliminate slack) then it will transmit the vehicle acceleration to its occupant without ...

Coulomb implosion mechanism of negative ion acceleration in laser plasmas
Coulomb implosion mechanism of the negatively charged ion acceleration in laser plasmas is proposed. When a cluster target is irradiated by an intense laser pulse and the Coulomb explosion of positively charged ions occurs, the negative ions are ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Numerical analysis of effective parameters in response of the nonlinear passive viscous systems [PDF]
In this article all the effective parameters in response of nonlinear passive viscous systems are investigated. Here, the term response is referred to the maximum inter-story drift and maximum absolute acceleration of the stories.

The Acceleration Mechanism of Resistive MHD Jets Launched from Accretion Disks
We analyzed the results of non-linear resistive magnetohydrodynamical (MHD) simulations of jet formation to study the acceleration mechanism of axisymmetric, resistive MHD jets.

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

With the increase in size and flexibility of wind turbines, the safety of large wind turbines becomes a major issue. For this reason, a novel 15-degree-of-freedom (DOF) large wind turbine reduced-order model is proposed in this paper based on the Euler ...
