MLGA: A SAS Macro to Compute Maximum Likelihood Estimators via Genetic Algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2015
Nonlinear regression is usually implemented in SAS either by using PROC NLIN or PROC NLMIXED. Apart from the model structure, initial values need to be specified for each parameter.

Robust Estimation of Multiple Regression Model with asymmetric innovations and Its Applicability on Asset Pricing Model [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we first develop the modified maximum likelihood (MML) estimators for the multiple regression coefficients in linear model with the underlying distribution assumed to be symmetric, one of Student's t family.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Modified Slash Lindley Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2017
In this paper we introduce a new distribution, called the modified slash Lindley distribution, which can be seen as an extension of the Lindley distribution.

Efficiency Bound of Local Z-Estimators on Discrete Sample Spaces

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
Many statistical models over a discrete sample space often face the computational difficulty of the normalization constant. Because of that, the maximum likelihood estimator does not work.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Point Estimation for the Inverse Rayleigh Distribution under Type-II Left and Right Censoring

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
The Inverse Rayleigh distribution is frequently utilized in reliability and survival analysis. This study focuses on deriving modified maximum likelihood estimators for the scale parameter of the Inverse Rayleigh distribution under Type-II left and right

Comparative Analysis of Some Structural Equation Model Estimation Methods with Application to Coronary Heart Disease Risk

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2020
This study compared a ridge maximum likelihood estimator to Yuan and Chan (2008) ridge maximum likelihood, maximum likelihood, unweighted least squares, generalized least squares, and asymptotic distribution-free estimators in fitting six models that ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
