The System for MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker)

JOURNAL OF ADVANCED INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND CONVERGENCE, 2013
In this paper, we design the car-based solar power controller that makes the HVAC fan (HAVC blower motor) drove for the user"s convenience in summer and the battery charged to support the alternator for eco-friendly solar power adaption. There was a fault in system structure of the existing MPPT(maximum power point tracking) method.

A Maximum Power Point Tracker Control of a Photovoltaic System

2008 IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference, 2008
Due the low utilization factor of photovoltaic arrays it is essential to extract the power through a converter that maximizes the operating point which varies with temperature and irradiance. In this paper we analyze the performance of the most recent Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithms.

Fast Maximum Power Point Tracker for photovoltaic arrays

2012 7th International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2012
A Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm with only one current sensor is presented. The output current provided by the photovoltaic (PV) panel is used as the signal controlling the duty cycle of the PWM converter that regulates PV panel power output.

Implementation of maximum-power-point-tracker for photovoltaic arrays

2011 6th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2011
The major purpose of this paper is to present an efficient way to search for the photovoltaic array's (PA's) maximum power point (MPP). The incremental conductance is used as the basis for the search process. The algorithm consists of two stages. First, it tries to reach the nearby MPP determined by the operating voltage based on the empirical formula.

Maximum Power Point Tracker: A Senior Design Experience

IEEE Potentials, 2016
The academic calendar at Kettering University in Flint, Michigan, is based on quarters, with each term having 10? weeks of lecture time. The electrical engineering senior design course at Kettering is only a quarter-term-long project, and the projects vary each term depending on the professor.

A practical maximum power point tracker for the photovoltaic system

2009 IEEE International Conference on Automation and Logistics, 2009
In order to improve the transfer efficiency of the solar array, this paper introduces a practical Maximum Power Point tracker and analyzes it in details. The methodology includes a loss-free resistor (LFR) realizing by a buck-boost converter. An improved incremental conductance tracking (ICT) algorithm with variable searching steps is also presented ...

A novel maximum power point tracker for PV systems

APEC 2001. Sixteenth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (Cat. No.01CH37181), 2002
A novel technique for efficiently extracting the maximum output power from a solar panel under varying meteorological conditions is presented. The methodology is based on connecting a pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) DC/DC SEPIC or Cuk converter between a solar panel and a load or battery bus.

An integrated maximum power point tracker for photovoltaic panels

IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics. Proceedings. ISIE'98 (Cat. No.98TH8357), 2002
This paper proposes a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) for a photovoltaic panel, that is to be integrated with the panel during manufacturing. The MPPT is inexpensive, efficient and has few components that serve to increase the MPPT's mean time between failures (MTBF). The MPPT uses an inexpensive microcontroller to perform all of its functions. This

Performance of maximum power point tracker in tropical climate

2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006
The performance of maximum power point tracker in tropical climate has been presented in this paper. The maximum power point tracker output voltage and current are used for control purposes, rather than for its input voltage and current. It is shown that using the output parameters simplifies the maximum power point tracker controller.

Iterative model-based Maximum Power Point Tracker for photovoltaic panels

2015 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) Proceedings, 2015
Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques are used to maintain the photovoltaic (PV) panel operating point near its maximum power point (MPP). In general, the location of the MPP on the V-I plane is not known, but it can be reached, either through a-priori knowledge or by search algorithms.
