Neurophysiological Characteristics of Nitrous Oxide‐Induced Polyneuropathy: A Case Series

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 31, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Nitrous oxide (N2O) misuse is a growing health concern, with N2O‐induced neurological disorders increasingly reported across Europe. Among these, N2O‐induced polyneuropathy (PNP) can lead to permanent deficits, yet its neurophysiological characteristics remain inconsistently described.

Obesity Disrupts CtBP2‐Mediated Maintenance of Transcriptional Equilibrium in Hypothalamic Feeding Circuitry

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 15, 15 August 2026.
CtBP2, a transcriptional corepressor with metabolite sensing capabilities, maintains feeding homeostasis by preventing excessive food intake in the hypothalamic feeding center. CtBP2 limits food intake by inhibiting KLF4 within AgRP neurons and by promoting the inhibitory influence of POMC neurons on AgRP neurons.

Transition to Adulthood Through Coaching and Empowerment in Rheumatology (TRACER): Results of a Feasibility Randomized‐Control Trial

open access: yesACR Open Rheumatology, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
Objective Health care transitions are a time of high needs for youth with chronic rheumatic conditions. Our study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of a multicenter randomized‐controlled trial implementing a virtual transition coach intervention (TCI) for youth transitioning from pediatric to adult rheumatology care.

ROS‐Responsive Nanobubbles for Dual‐Enhanced Ultrasound and Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Tumor Oxidative Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
We report the development of biotinylated PEGylated bilirubin‐coated perfluoropentane (bt‐PEG‐BR@PFP) nanobubbles, a novel class of ROS‐activatable and dual‐modality contrast agents that amplify both ultrasound (US) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) signals in response to elevated ROS.

Engineering Strategies to Suppress Thermal Runaway Propagation in Lithium‐Ion Battery: Mechanisms, Metrics, Materials, and Evaluation Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
Thermal runaway propagation can transform a single‐cell failure into a system‐level hazard in lithium‐ion battery packs. This review clarifies how heat transfer, gas venting, combustion, and configuration govern cell‐to‐cell failure, and links measurable metrics, pathway‐oriented suppression materials, and experimental/modeling tools to guide safer ...
