Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

What the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) should adopt from Bland–Altman analyses

open access: yesGerman Journal of Exercise and Sport Research
Abstract Reporting reliability with precision and accuracy is of paramount importance in empirical data collections to ascertain whether data is trustworthy. Reliability is often quantified using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), from which the standard error of measurement (SEM) and the minimal detectable change (MDC) can

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Modeling of the output current of a photovoltaic grid-connected system using random forests technique

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2018
This study presents a prediction technique for the output current of a photovoltaic grid-connected system by using random forests technique. Experimental data of a photovoltaic grid-connected system are used to train and validate the proposed model ...

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Soil Temperature and Moisture Forecasting Using Exponential Smoothing Method Based on Mean Absolute Percentage Error

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Applied Informatics
Soil is an essential medium for almost all plants. Temperature and moisture in the soil become one of the factors that affect plant growth. Unbalanced or unfavorable soil conditions will adversely affect the plant. Therefore, soil conditions, including temperature and moisture, must be monitored to maintain plant health. Forecasting can be used to find

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
