Mean curvature blow up in mean curvature flow

open access: yes, 2009
In this note we establish that finite-time singularities of the mean curvature flow of compact Riemannian submanifolds are characterised by the blow up of the mean curvature.

Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Interface evolution of microdroplets in flow-focusing channels with varying aspect ratios

open access: yesFlow
This study combines experimental observations and numerical simulations to comprehensively analyse the interface evolution of confined droplets in microfluidic devices with flow-focusing junctions under different aspect ratios.

Drag Reduction Effects of Micro-Bubbles in Straight and Helical Pipes

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2009
Experimental investigations were conducted to study the effect of micro-bubbles injected into water flowing through straight and helical pipes with different curvature ( 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1).

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Impact of poloidal convective cells on momentum flux in tokamaks

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
Radial fluxes of parallel momentum due to $E\times B$ and magnetic drifts are shown to be correlated in tokamak plasmas. This correlation comes from the onset of poloidal convective cells generated by turbulence.

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant
