Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Fujita-type theorems for a quasilinear parabolic differential inequality with weighted nonlocal source term

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2023
This work is concerned with the nonexistence of nontrivial nonnegative weak solutions for a quasilinear parabolic differential inequality with weighted nonlocal source term in the whole space, which involves weighted polytropic filtration operator or ...

Boundary value problems for noncompact boundaries of Spinᶜ manifolds and spectral estimates

open access: yes, 2014
We study boundary value problems for the Dirac operator on Riemannian Spin$^c$ manifolds of bounded geometry and with noncompact boundary. This generalizes a part of the theory of boundary value problems by C. B\"ar and W. Ballmann for complete manifolds

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Phasefield theory for fractional diffusion-reaction equations and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper is concerned with diffusion-reaction equations where the classical diffusion term, such as the Laplacian operator, is replaced with a singular integral term, such as the fractional Laplacian operator.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

The Dirichlet Problem with Mean Curvature Operator in Minkowski Space – a Variational Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Nonlinear Studies, 2014
Abstract In this paper we consider the Dirichlet problem with mean curvature operator in Minkowski space : where Ω ⊂ ℝN is a smooth open bounded set and f : Ω × ℝ → ℝ is a Carathéodory function.
