Effective Mean Free Path of Antinucleons in Nuclear Matter [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review, 1959
The effective mean free path for antinucleons in nuclear matter is calculated at intermediate energies from the Fermi gas model, in terms of the nucleonantinucleon total and differential scattering cross sections. The results are used to obtain the imaginary part of the optical-model potential in the formalism of Riesenfeld and Watson. (auth)

Fluctuation of mean free path and transition temperature induced vortex pinning in (Ba,K)Fe2As2 superconductors

open access: yes, 2012
The vortex pinning mechanisms of Ba0.72K0.28Fe2As2 single crystal have been studied systematically as a function of temperature and magnetic field. The temperature dependence of the critical current density, Jc(T), was analysed within the collective ...

Nonthermal Plasma Reduction of Nickel Oxide Layers by Atmospheric Pressure Dielectric Barrier Discharge in Argon/Hydrogen

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores the reduction of nickel oxide layers using dielectric barrier discharge plasma in an argon–hydrogen atmosphere. The results reveal a strong temperature dependence, enabling complete reduction of thick oxide layers at 200°C within seconds.

Impact of static disorder on quasiparticle spectra: Debye-Waller, mean free path, and potential fluctuation effects

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is a widely used characterization technique in condensed matter physics, providing direct access to the single-electron spectral function of crystals, including their electronic band structure and Fermi ...

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Molecular dynamics studies of anomalous transport in rarefied gas flows

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate the thermodynamically non-equilibrium gas dynamics by measuring molecular free path distribution functions, inter-molecular collision rates and wall dependent mean free path (MFP) profiles using the molecular dynamics (MD) method.

Resistance Rapid Heating of Aluminum Coatings in an Extreme High Vacuum–Adequate Atmosphere for Hot Stamping

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.
