Mean Platelet Volume as a Biomarker for Thyroid Carcinoma

This study aimed to determine the relationship between mean platelet volume (MPV) and thyroid malignancy by comparing patients who underwent surgery for benign or malignant thyroid diseases. MPV is a useful early indicator of platelet activation. Platelets differ in terms of functional activity and size.

This study included 112 patients with HCM, in which 40 were patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), and 106 were control participants.
