Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Mean Value Of A Smarandache-Type Function
In this paper, we use analytic method to study the mean value properties of Smarandache-Type Multiplicative Functions Km(n), and give its asymptotic formula . Finally, the convolution method is used to improve the error term.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Mean values of L -functions and Dedekind sums
It is well-known that the classical Dedekind sums \(S(h,k)\) first arose in the transformation formula of the logarithm of the Dedekind-eta function. If \(h\) and \(k\) are coprime integers with \(k>0\), the Dedekind sum is defined by \[ S(h,k)=\sum\limits_{\mu\mod k}((\frac{\mu}{k}))((\frac{h\mu}{k})), \] where \(((x))\) is defined by \[ ((x))=\begin ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Wind Power Potential of Southeast Brazil: Analytical Study for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
Statistical models to wind speed allow understanding accurately the wind potential of a location, which is significant when deciding where to locate new wind farm installations and sometimes for the strategy of buildings and their structural design.
