New Fuzzy Entropy Measure of Order α

open access: yes, 2018
In this article, a new fuzzy entropy measure of order α is proposed. The fuzzy entropy axiomatic requirements are discussed for the new measure, and an empirical comparison are made with several entropy measures including Shannon, Rényi and Kapur.

On the fuzziness measure and negation in totally ordered lattices

open access: yes, 1986
Following Yager (Inform. and Control44 (1980), 236–260), the negation concept is connected with fuzziness one. By studying this connection algebraically, we show that if L is a chain with an order-reversing involutionary negation, a new chain L̂, based ...

Multiscale Microscopy via Automation: Dual Magnification Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy Imaging by Frame Alternation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An automation interface for environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) enables simultaneous, interlaced data sets via frame‐by‐frame parameter changes. Demonstrated on oscillatory hydrogen oxidation over cobalt (Co) foil, dual‐magnification imaging bridges mesoscopic to microscopic length scales, capturing alternating views of surface dynamics ...

Fuzzy Fractional Brownian Motion: Review and Extension

open access: yesAlgorithms
In traditional finance, option prices are typically calculated using crisp sets of variables. However, as reported in the literature novel, these parameters possess a degree of fuzziness or uncertainty.

Entropy assessment for type-2 fuzziness

open access: yes, 2004
One of the sources of uncertainty, which perhaps is identified as parameter uncertainty, is the level of fuzziness in fuzzy system modeling. Given the optimum number of clusters and the cluster centers, one can explore Type-2 membership values that ...

Harnessing Ultrafast Optical Pulses for 3D Microfabrication by Selective Tweezing and Immobilization of Colloidal Particles in an Integrated System

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Microfabrication using nano‐ to micron‐sized blocks has transformative potential for next‐gen electronics, optoelectronics, and materials. Traditional methods are limited by scalability and precision. STIC, a single‐laser system for precise colloid manipulation and immobilization using femtosecond lasers, is introduced that enables efficient 3D ...

Graininess of RGB-Display Space

open access: yesi-Perception, 2018
RGB –display space, that is, the ‘ RGB –cube’, was sampled at 3,000 locations, uniformly and randomly distributed. Fifty observers contributed 60 samples each. At each location, participants synthesised a copy of the target, using a generic colour picker.

Fuzziness measure approach to automatic histogram threshold

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, an automatic histogram threshold approach based on a fuzziness measure is presented. This work is an improvement of an existing method.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
