Biological Feasibility of a Novel Island-Type Fishway Inspired by the Tesla Valve
Inspired by the Tesla valve, the island-type fishway is a novel design whose biological performance remains unelucidated. This study integrated hydraulic experiments, CFD modeling, and 3D computer vision to investigate the passage performance and ...

Multi-objective Optimization Design of Cyclone Pump Impeller Based on Agent Model and Genetic Algorithm [PDF]
To determine the optimal design configuration for enhancing the performance of cyclone pumps, this study employs a multi-parameter objective optimization approach based on three critical variables: impeller blade thickness, blade width, and outlet ...

An Integrated Front-end Circuit Board for Air-Coupled CMUT Burst-Echo Imaging
To conduct burst-echo imaging with air-coupled capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (CMUTs) using the same elements in transmission and reception, this work proposes a dedicated and integrated front-end circuit board design to build an imaging

Two-plasmon spontaneous emission from a nonlocal epsilon-near-zero material
Plasmonics involves the engineering of light-matter interactions and has range of possible uses in the study of quantum phenomenon, but efficient plasmonic sources are required.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Monocular metasurface camera for passive single-shot 4D imaging
The authors present a monocular camera equipped with a single-layer metalens for passive single-shot 4D imaging. It can simultaneously perform high-accuracy depth sensing and highfidelity polarization imaging over an extended depth of field.

Instrumentation and measurement [PDF]
It is clear from the large number of citations that there is strong demand for improving the accuracy and rapidity of the standard dielectric measurement techniques and for matching them to particular applications. For the general presentation of this chapter, we have tried to keep, as far as possible, the same organization as in Volume 40, but some ...
