A relational quantum computer using only two-qubit total spin measurement and an initial supply of highly mixed single qubit states

open access: yes, 2005
We prove that universal quantum computation is possible using only (i) the physically natural measurement on two qubits which distinguishes the singlet from the triplet subspace, and (ii) qubits prepared in almost any three different (potentially highly ...

AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE MEASUREMENT INVARIANCE OF PISA 2012 MATHEMATICAL LITERACY TEST [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The aim of this study is to investigate the measurement invariance of PISA 2012 mathematical literacy among the OECD member countries, and gender and region groups in Turkey.

Turning on Selective H2S Gas Sensing Activity in Ternary Nickel Tungstate Strongly Correlated Electron System Through Sub‐Gap Band Manipulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A strongly correlated electron system (SCES) exhibits pronounced insulating behavior due to Coulombic repulsion between cations, which generates a charge gap. This study investigates the tuning of the band structure in NiWO4‐based SCES via Cu doping at substitutional sites and Li doping at interstitial sites.

Measurement Invariance and Response Bias: A Stochastic Frontier Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
The goals of the present paper were to assess measurement invariance using a common econometric method and to illustrate the approach with self-reported measures of parenting behaviors before and after a family intervention.

Relativistic quantum measurement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Does the measurement of a quantum system necessarily break Lorentz invariance? We present a simple model of a detector that measures the spacetime localization of a relativistic particle in a Lorentz invariant manner.

Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

High‐Entropy Magnetism of Murunskite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study of murunskite (K2FeCu3S4) reveals that its magnetic and orbital order emerges in a simple I4/mmm crystal structure with complete disorder in the transition metal positions. Mixed‐valence Fe ions randomly occupy 1/4 of the tetrahedral sites, with the remaining 3/4 being filled by non‐magnetic Cu+ ions.

Measurement Invariance: Testing for It and Explaining Why It is Absent

open access: yesSurvey Research Methods, 2020
There has been a significant increase in cross-national and longitudinal data production in social science research in recent decades. Before drawing substantive conclusions based on cross-national and longitudinal survey data, researchers need to ...

Measurement invariance of the strength of motivation for medical school: a multi-group confirmatory factor analysis

open access: yesBMC Medical Education, 2017
Background The Strength of Motivation for Medical School-Revised (SMMS-R) questionnaire measures students’ motivation for studying medicine. It includes three subscales: ‘willingness to sacrifice’, ‘readiness to start’, and ‘persistence’.
