Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

RADIOGRAPHIC MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES
Neurosurgery, 2008The evaluation and treatment of spinal deformities begins with the accurate measurement of appropriate spinal parameters. The surgeon must ensure that the patient is positioned properly for all necessary x-ray scans and that the proper studies are completed. The relevant measurements must be identified and recorded for each study.

Enhancements in Luminescence Measurement Techniques
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2002New developments in the Risø TL/OSL system includes a software controlled heater fitted underneath the beta source to enable irradiation of samples at an elevated temperature. This allows investigations of competition effects from thermally shallow traps and centres. Significant additional software developments include the facility to vary linearly the

Technique for Measuring Visibility
Applied Optics, 1971A technique for measuring atmospheric extinction of light, or visibility, from the backscattered signal of a modulated cw laser is presented. The extinction coefficient is contained in the amplitude and phase of the return signal and can be extracted in several ways from certain amplitude and/or phase measurements.

Development of measurement techniques
Neurology, 1996In the past few years we have witnessed an unexpected and unprecedented increase in the number of therapeutic trials in ALS, and it is reasonable to anticipate that this activity will continue, if not accelerate, in the future. Almost every major neurologic center in the United States and Europe is participating in an ALS trial.
