Analysis of damage and fracture formulations in cold extrusion [PDF]
In forming processes, components generally undergo large deformations. This induces the evolution of damage, which can influence material and product properties.

The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Influence of environmental conditions on the quality of potato tubers
In 1995-1997 seven varieties of potatoes were cultivated in field trials in twelve localities in the Czech Republic. Six of the twelve localities were situated in lower, warmer and drier areas with fertile, predominantly loamy soils. The other localities

Modeling anisotropic damage in elasto-plastic materials with structural defects [PDF]
The paper deals with models for elasto-plastic materials with continuously distributed micro defects (micro cracks, micro voids, extra-matte), compatible with the principle of imbalance of the free energy.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
