Some aspects about milling : expert system for cutting parameters selection and control designs

open access: yes, 2006
Milling is a mechanical process which consist of the relative movement between feeding the work-piece and rotating the multitooth cutter, to remove material from the work-piece.

Optimizing ball milling parameters for controlling the internal microstructure and tensile characteristics of a laminated carbon nanotube/aluminum–copper–magnesium composite

open access: yesResults in Materials
This research investigates how different ball milling conditions influence the microstructure and mechanical properties of carbon nanotube/aluminum alloys. The study examines varying rotation speeds, specifically 200, 300, and 400 rpm.

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Method of determining the process applied for feature machining : experimental validation of a slot [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we will be evaluating the "manufacturability" levels for several machining processes of "slot" feature. Using the STEP standard, we will identify the slot feature characteristics. Then, using the ascendant generation of process method, we

Effect of ball milling process on microstructure and mechanical properties of CNTs/Al composites

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and aluminum composite powders were prepared by both wet ball milling and dry ball milling. The CNTs reinforced aluminum matrix (CNTs/Al) composites were fabricated by sparking plasma sintering (SPS) combined with hot extrusion ...

The synergistic effect of catalysts on hydrogen desorption properties of MgH2–TiO2–NiO nanocomposite

open access: yesMaterials for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, 2016
The high desorption temperature and slow desorption kinetics of MgH2 makes it less competitive for future mobile applications; using a catalyst accompanied by mechanical milling seems to be a good solution to overcome those problems.
