Characterization by X ray diffraction of mechanically alloyed tripotassium sodium sulfate
Nanocrystalline powder of tripotassium sodium sulfate (K3Na(SO4)2 - KNS) was successfully obtained by mechanical alloying a mixture of potassium sulfate (K2SO4) and sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) with a proportion of 3:1 in a planetary mill.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

MODELLING AND ANALYSIS OF CHATTER MITIGATION STRATEGIES IN MILLING [PDF]
Machining stability plays a major role in improving machine tool performance and product quality. Uncontrolled chatter phenomenon causes too many defects and problems in manufacturing industry such as increased surface roughness, tool wear and even ...

The effect of wood particle size distribution on the mechanical properties of wood–plastic composite
Commercial wood flour of pine (Pinus densiflora) was used as an experimental material. It was milled with different milling times 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, and 120 min to investigate the effect of their particle size distribution on the mechanical ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Mechanical Micromachining by Drilling, Milling and Slotting
Micromachining is not only a simple miniaturization of processes using macroscopic tools. As a matter of fact, a lot of specific concerns have to be met for successful fabrication of microstructures. This chapter will be focussed on micromachining using geometrically determined cutting edges, namely on techniques like drilling, milling and slotting ...

The Mechanism of Mg2Al3 Formation by Mechanical Alloying
Synthetic and characterization of the Mg2Al3 formation by mechanical alloying have been carried out using a high energy ball milling process. Mechanical alloying is a technique of solid state reactions among two or more metals to form a new alloy through

Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Quantum Mechanics [PDF]
The new approach to quantum mechanical problems is proposed. Quantum states are represented in an algebraic program, by lists of variable length, while operators are well defined functions on these lists. Complete numerical solution of a given system can then be automatically obtained.
