Relaxation dynamics of Fe55Cr10Mo14C15B6 metallic glass explored by mechanical spectroscopy and calorimetry measurements [PDF]
In this work, the mechanical relaxation dynamics of Fe55Cr10Mo14C15B6 metallic glass is explored by mechanical spectroscopy. The temperature-dependent loss modulus E″(T) shows the features of β relaxation well below glass transition temperature Tg.

Dislocation Breakaway Damping in AA7050 Alloy
The AA7050 alloy prepared through the standard industrial hot-forging cycle has been investigated by means of isothermal mechanical spectroscopy (MS) from room temperature up to 185 °C. Each MS test consisted of a cycle with two stages, at increasing and

Dynamic Mechanical Relaxation in LaCe-Based Metallic Glasses: Influence of the Chemical Composition
The mechanical relaxation behavior of the (La0.5Ce0.5)65Al10(CoxCu1−x)25 at% (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8) metallic glasses was probed by dynamic mechanical analysis. The intensity of the secondary β relaxation increases along with the Co/Cu

Shape Memory Polyurethane-Based Smart Polymer Substrates for Physiologically Responsive, Dynamic Pressure (Re)Distribution. [PDF]
Shape memory polymers (SMPs) are an exciting class of stimuli-responsive smart materials that demonstrate reactive and reversible changes in mechanical property, usually by switching between different states due to external stimuli.

Evaluation of Structural Stability of Materials through Mechanical Spectroscopy: Four Case Studies
Microstructural stability is one of the utmost important requirements for metallic materials in engineering applications, particularly at high temperatures. The paper shows how Mechanical Spectroscopy (MS) (i.e., damping and dynamic modulus measurements)

Two-dimensional phononic-photonic bandgap optomechanical crystal cavity [PDF]
We present the fabrication and characterization of an artificial crystal structure formed from a thin-film of silicon which has a full phononic bandgap for microwave X-band phonons and a two-dimensional pseudo-bandgap for near-infrared photons.
