Mechanical Thrombolysis Using a Solitaire Stent
Neuroradiology Journal, 2010Mechanical offers several advantages over drug thrombolysis: in particular, the haemorrhagic risk may be not significantly increased while working out the indications got intravenous drug thrombolysis. Available tools were in our hands inefficient, stiff and dangerous. We found a retrievable stent efficient and easy to handle for this purpose.

Mechanical and Enzymatic Thrombolysis for Massive Pulmonary Embolism
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, 2002To assess the efficacy and safety of mechanical fragmentation combined with intrapulmonary thrombolysis in massive pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) with hemodynamic impairment.Fifty-nine patients diagnosed with massive PTE with hemodynamic impact were treated. The initial clinical symptoms were shock in 23 patients (38.9%), syncope in eight (13.5%), and

Revascularization treatments (IV thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy) related to ischemic stroke have developed in recent years. With devices such as NIRS, non-invasive monitoring of treatment efficacy is provided.

Intravenous Thrombolysis Before Mechanical Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke: A Meta‐Analysis [PDF]
Background: Whether intravenous thrombolysis before mechanical thrombectomy provides additional benefit for functional outcome in acute ischemic stroke remains uncertain.

Mechanical intervention after thrombolysis
Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, 2008Revascularisation strategies for acute myocardial infarction have evolved from early admission to coronary care units, bed rest and cardiac rhythm monitoring, to thrombolytic therapy and primary angioplasty. Although mechanical intervention for a failed prior revascularisation attempt is common widespread clinical practice, the outcome of this two-step

Some Aspects of the Mechanism of Thrombolysis
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1961Summary1. Antibody to streptokinase and kinase, activator and plasmin inhibitors in the circulating blood of man, inhibit parenterally injected streptokinase and streptokinase-plasmin, in vivo. In vitro assays of these inhibitors determine the priming dose of streptokinase and streptokinase-plasmin to neutralize the inhibitors and effect thrombolysis.2.
