Quantum Mechanics as an Approximation to Classical Mechanics in Hilbert Space
Classical mechanics is formulated in complex Hilbert space with the introduction of a commutative product of operators, an antisymmetric bracket, and a quasidensity operator.

Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Probability Density in the Complex Plane
The correspondence principle asserts that quantum mechanics resembles classical mechanics in the high-quantum-number limit. In the past few years many papers have been published on the extension of both quantum mechanics and classical mechanics into the ...

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

Zebrafish epiboly: mechanics and mechanisms
Gastrulation involves of a series of coordinated cell movements to organize the germ layers and establish the major body axes of the embryo. One gastrulation movement is epiboly, which involves the thinning and spreading of a multilayered cell sheet. Epiboly plays a prominent role in zebrafish gastrulation and studies of zebrafish epiboly have provided

A Note on the Gains from Trade of the Random-Offerer Mechanism [PDF]
We study the classic bilateral trade setting. Myerson and Satterthwaite show that there is no Bayesian incentive compatible and budget-balanced mechanism that obtains the gains from trade of the first-best mechanism. Consider the random-offerer mechanism: with probability $\frac{1}{2}$ run the \emph{seller-offering} mechanism, in which the seller ...

The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

Abstract Purpose A set of treatment planning strategies were designed and retrospectively implemented for locally advanced, non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients in order to minimize cardiac dose without compromising target coverage goals. Methods Retrospective analysis was performed for 20 NSCLC patients prescribed to 60–66 Gy that received a ...
