On materials destruction criteria [PDF]
In terms of nonlinear material fracture mechanics, the real (discrete)-structure material fracture model has been developed. The model rests on the demonstration of the fact that crack resistance $K_{1c}=2\sigma \sqrt l$ and fracture toughness are $G_{1c}=J_{1c}=2\sigma l$ obtained on the basis of energy conservation law and derived without linear ...

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

Mechanically Stimulated Domain Re-arrangement in Cryogenic Magnetic Shielding Materials [PDF]
Room temperature properties and behavior of several types of cryogenic magnetic shielding materials are measured and reported here. Large changes in the effective relative permeability are observed when the materials are perturbed with a relatively small mechanical stimulation. The change in permeability is a reversible effect.

Geometry and mechanics of two-dimensional defects in amorphous materials
Significance Modeling defects, or localized strain carriers, are a central challenge in the formulation of elasto-plastic theory of amorphous solids. Whereas in crystalline solids defects are identified as local deviations from the crystal order, it is ...

THE EFFECT OF SEALING PROCESSES ON THE CORROSION BEHAVIOUR OF Al₂O₃-13 WT.%TiO₂ COATING
A novel post-treatment process was employed to seal a plasma-sprayed Al₂O₃-13wt. %TiO₂ (AT13) coating to improve its corrosion resistance. A series of AT13 coatings were sealed with silicone resin using conventional sealing and ultrasonic sealing at ...

Mechanical behavior of materials
In this second edition, every chapter has been revised and updated to incorporate modern materials. This book presents important principles involved in the mechanical behavior of different materials and is the most up-to-date text on this topic with a balanced presentation of theory of mechanical behaviour of metals, polymers, composites and ...
