A Constraint-Driven Automated Framework for Optimizing Multi-Tool Fiducial Configurations in Surgical Navigation

open access: yesBioengineering
The accuracy of optical tracking tools is crucial for surgical navigation. While commercial tools are reliable, their proprietary design knowledge limits accessibility and adaptability for specialized clinical and research applications.

Complexity of Mechanism Design

open access: yesCoRR, 2002
The aggregation of conflicting preferences is a central problem in multiagent systems. The key difficulty is that the agents may report their preferences insincerely. Mechanism design is the art of designing the rules of the game so that the agents are motivated to report their preferences truthfully and a (socially) desirable outcome is chosen.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The effect of music tempo on movement flow

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
There has been much controversy over the effects of music tempo on movement flow. In this study, a single-factor repeated-measurement design was used to explore the effect of music tempo (fast, slow, and no music control) on movement flow by measuring ...

An Improved Measurement Uncertainty Calculation Method of Profile Error for Sculptured Surfaces

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
The current researches mainly adopt “Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM)” to calculate the profile error. However, GUM can only be applied in the linear models.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Force/Torque Sensorless Compliant Control Strategy for Assembly Tasks Using a 6-DOF Collaborative Robot

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The flexibility of the robot assembly process is critical, and a robot assembly system that is not flexible may damage the workpieces. Most researchers make the assembly process flexible by installing a six-dimensional force/torque sensor at the end of ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
