Physio-Chemical Preparation of Slow-Release Potassium Fertilizers

open access: yesمجلة مركز بحوث التقنيات الاحيائية, 2022
Background: In this work, one of the novel types of slow-release fertilizers (SRF) consisting of kaolin as clay material and K2SO4 was synthesized through a mechanochemical process by grinding in a ball mill planetary model.

The mechanochemical excitation of crystalline LiN3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Mechanochemical reactions are driven by the direct absorption of mechanical energy by a solid (often crystalline) material. Understanding how this energy is absorbed and ultimately causes a chemical transformation is essential for understanding the ...

Influence of Si Content and Milling Duration on the Microstructure and Mechanical–Tribological Properties of AlCoCrFeNiSi High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

Electron paramagnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction study of PbF2 fine powders mechanochemically doped with Er3+ ions [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Solids, 2018
Investigation of the mechanochemical doping of PbF2 powders with Er3+ ions with electron paramagnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction is presented. In the analysis of the results a possibility of the structural transformation between the cubic β-PbF2 and

Swelling‐Programmed Topographical Guidance for Dynamic Spheroid Self‐Assembly via a Mechanochemical Hydrogel Niche

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A swelling‐programmed micropatterned hydrogel guides adherent cells through a controlled transition from cell–matrix anchoring to cadherin‐mediated cell–cell compaction, enabling rapid assembly of high‐viability spheroids with defined size and morphology.

Mechanochemically Induced Solid-State Transformations of Levofloxacin

open access: yesMolecular Pharmaceutics
Levofloxacin hemihydrate (LVXh) is a complex fluoroquinolone drug that exists in both hydrated and anhydrous/dehydrated forms. Due to the complexity of such a compound, the primary aim of this study was to investigate the amorphization capabilities and solid-state transformations of LVXh when exposed to mechanical treatment using ball milling.

Nanoengineered Binetworks in Multifunctional Anionic Block Polymer Mesoblends for Improved Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mesoblends consist of a nanostructured polymer into which a second polymer is imbibed with a selective solvent. In this work, a solvent‐templatable pentablock terpolymer possessing a sulfonated midblock is modified with a hydrophilic polymer that is photocrosslinked in situ, yielding a hierarchical binetwork.

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Polymer microbubbles as universal platform to accelerate polymer mechanochemistry

open access: yesNature Communications
The flow-induced activation of mechanophores embedded in linear polymers by ultrasound (US) suffers from slow mechanochemical conversions at the commonly used frequency of 20 kHz and in many cases remains ineffective with higher MHz frequencies. Here, we

Investigation on mechanochemical dehydration of γ-FeOOH

open access: yes, 1986
The process of mechanochemical dehydration of γ-FeOOH has been investigated. It has been established that grinding of γ-FeOOH leads to its direct transformation into α-Fe2O3.
