1,4,5,8,9,11-hexaazatriphenylenehexacarbonitrile (HAT CN) was synthesized mechanochemically at room temperature. The coupling of hexaketocyclohexane and diaminomaleonitrile was conducted in 10 min by vibratory ball milling.
