Mechanochemical Nitrous Oxide Decomposition. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Mater
Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a potent greenhouse gas with a global warming potential of 310. A novel mechanochemical strategy is presented for decomposing N2O into harmless nitrogen and oxygen, achieving a rapid decomposition rate of 1761.3 mL h−1 and nearly complete N2O conversion of 99.98% at 42 °C.

Tailor-Made Vessels for Enhancing the Mechanochemical Energy Transfer and Milling Efficiency. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
In ball mills, the vessel geometry has a major impact on the milling efficiency. By 3D‐printing, 18 new vessels were introduced, and their ability to direct the milling balls for high‐level energy transfers was investigated by a novel experimental set‐up following the triboluminescent behavior of a copper complex by high‐speed photography ...

TG, FT-IR and NMR characterization of n-C16H34 contaminated alumina and silica after mechanochemical treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper deals with the application of mechanochemistry to model systems composed of alumina or silica artificially contaminated with n-C16H34. The mechanochemical treatment was carried out by means of a ring mill for times ranging from 10 to 40 h ...

Comprehensive structural model of the mechanochemical cycle of a mitotic motor highlights molecular adaptations in the kinesin family [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Kinesins are responsible for a wide variety of microtubule-based, ATP-dependent functions. Their motor domain drives these activities but the molecular adaptations that specify these diverse and essential cellular activities are poorly understood.
