Hypoxia‐induced vulnerability of the somatosensory nervous system
Abstract figure legend Sensory neurons are highly energy dependent and rely on sufficient oxygen availability to maintain metabolic stability and effective neurocommunication. Within the somatosensory system, even modest reductions in tissue oxygen tension impair neuronal respiration, forcing a shift toward less efficient metabolic pathways that ...

Abstract figure legend Schematic illustration of microneurography recordings used to examine the effects of local skin heating on cutaneous mechanoreceptor responses in the human foot (left panel). A microelectrode inserted into a peripheral nerve records single‐unit activity from tactile afferent fibres while controlled mechanical stimuli are applied ...

Glioblastoma (GBM) is highly aggressive and therapy‐resistant, warranting exploration of novel treatment strategies, among them mechanical high‐intensity focused ultrasound (mFUS), which holds significant promise for tumor ablation. The present study examined mFUS‐induced changes specifically in carbohydrate metabolism, which affects vulnerability to ...

Selective purification of heart‐specific spinal and vagal sensory neurons by retrograde labeling and FACS purification showed enhanced spontaneous, optogenetic, and chemically stimulated Ca2+ activity. Transcriptomic profiling identified distinct ion channel and GPCR signatures in heart‐specific sensory neurons.

A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.
