Quantum molecular study of the alkylating agent mechlorethamine

International Journal of Quantum Chemistry, 1991
Mechlorethamine HN2 is a nitrogen mustard that is recognized as a fundamental model for the alkylating agents belonging to this family. This molecule is an anticancer drug that reacts strongly with intracellular DNA through a complex electrostatic mechanism.

Tetracycline compared with mechlorethamine in the treatment of malignant pleural effusions. A randomized trial

Respiratory Medicine, 1994
Pleural sclerosis after tube thoracostomy was performed in 40 patients with malignant pleural effusions. The patients were randomly allocated to intrapleural therapy with tetracycline or mechlorethamine. Follow up was obtained on each patient to determine if a symptomatic effusion recurred.

Complete Regressions of Mycosis Fungoides With Topical Mechlorethamine Hydrochloride

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1972
Survival of patients with mycosis fungoides, a lymphoma initially appearing in the skin and thereafter spreading to internal organs, has not been substantially improved by chemotherapeutic measures in use over the past two decades. In only a few instances has the disease been reported to undergo complete regression following therapy.

Drug Shortage: The Impact of Substituting Mechlorethamine in Stanford V for Hodgkin's Lymphoma

, 2016
Introduction: the shortage of some anticancer drugs has forced their substitution in established combination chemotherapy regimens, but the replacement may have critical effects on the results of treatment and need careful evaluation. Since 1996 we treat

Treatment of Inoperable Cancer by Intra-Arterial Administration of Mechlorethamine

A.M.A. Archives of Surgery, 1957
This report describes results obtained from the fractionated, regional intra-arterial administration of mechlorethamine hydrochloride (methyl-bis[β-chlorethyl]amine hydrochloride; HN 2 ) in a series of 60 patients with inoperable cancer. In each instance, oxytetracycline (Terramycin) was given concomitantly with the mechlorethamine.
