Medical Imaging for the Tracking of Micromotors [PDF]
Micro/nanomotors are useful tools for several biomedical applications, including targeted drug delivery and minimally invasive microsurgeries. However, major challenges such as in vivo imaging need to be addressed before they can be safely applied on a living body.

Novel and unscrutinized immune entities of the zebrafish gut
Understudied cells of the zebrafish immune system include bona fide immune cells and epithelial (‐derived) cells with immune functions. Research focusing on zebrafish cells which demonstrate similarities to mammalian immune cell counterparts may help us understand the pathologies in which they are implicated. Currently available and advanced tools make

Acute Inflammatory Pericarditis following First Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine (AstraZeneca)
Background. Clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine reported the safety and efficacy of mRNA vaccines (AstraZeneca) to help control the disease. Few previous reports have shown various side effects associated with COVID-19 vaccines that vary in severity.

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells
Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.

Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) Syndrome : the medical imaging perspective [PDF]
Introduction: Sports persons, physicians, orthopods and radiologists have become increasingly aware of the extra stress that is imposed on the hip joints with excessive activity particularly when superadded weight bearing and asymmetrical variations from

Diffeomorphic density registration
In this book chapter we study the Riemannian Geometry of the density registration problem: Given two densities (not necessarily probability densities) defined on a smooth finite dimensional manifold find a diffeomorphism which transforms one to the other.

Anti-tumor M1-like and pro-tumor M2-like tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) coexist in tumor microenvironments (TME). The adverse effects of these M1/M2 subsets on tumors directly affect the current strategies to improve anti-tumor immune response ...

RAD50 missense variants differentially affect the DNA damage response and mitotic progression
RAD50 incorporates into the MRN complex and initiates the DNA damage response. Furthermore, RAD50 promotes mitotic progression. RAD50 missense variants capable of forming an MRN complex supported the DNA damage response and mitotic features to different extents in complementation experiments, indicating these functions are separable and might impact ...

High-Intensity Transient Signals Detected in a Renal Allograft
High-intensity transient signals (HITS) are signals recorded by the Doppler ultrasounds, reflecting either the passage of microemboli, both solid or gaseous in the vessels, or artifacts.
