Impact of Hot Pressing Pressure on Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) Performance

open access: yes, 2017
— This paper investigates the impact of hot pressing pressure onto the MDF Physical and Mechanical properties. It has been observed that Physical and Mechanical properties of the products are improved but not too much when the maximum pressure rises from 3.5 MPa to 5.5 MPa.

EVALUATION OF SURFACE QUALITY OF MEDIUM DENSITY FIBERBOARDS (MDF) AND PARTICLEBOARDS AS FUNCTION OF WEATHERING

open access: yesPro Ligno, 2012
The objective of the study was to evaluate thesurface quality of commercially producedparticleboard and medium density fiberboard (MDF)panels as function of weathering. Four types ofpanels were exposed to three weathering cycles ofwater soaking, freezing, and heat exposures todetermine the influence of such conditions on theirsurface roughness.

Effect of Nano–Bentonite on Physical and Mechanical Properties Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 2014
Wood-composites are susceptible to fire due to their nature. Some research projects were therefore carried out to investigate potentiality of bentonite nanoparticles in improving fire-retarding properties in medium-density fiberboards (MDF); the present complimentary study aimed at determining the effects of nanobentonite on physical and mechanical ...

THE EFFECTS OF BORON COMPOUNDS AND DIFFERENT MELAMINE CONTENTS IN MUF RESINS ON SOME PROPERTIES OF MDF PANELS

open access: yesBioResources, 2011
The objective of this study was to determine the effects of some boron compounds, which have fire retardant properties, as well as melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) resins having different melamine contents (10%, 15%, and 20%) on some physical and ...

Performance Evaluation of Medium Density Fiberboard for Structural Use: Influence of Melamine Content, Resin Content, and Density

open access: yesBioResources
The feasibility of improving medium-density fiberboard (MDF) for structural applications was addressed by improving its mechanical and dimensional properties through modifications in resin formulation and board density.

Determination of the Properties of Medium-Density Fiberboards Produced Using Urea-Formaldehyde Resins Modified with Boron Compounds

open access: yesBioResources
Effects of adding different boron compounds to the urea-formaldehyde resin were evaluated relative to the physical, mechanical, and other properties of medium-density fiberboard (MDF).
