Effects of Hydrolysis on the Removal of Cured Urea-Formaldehyde Adhesive in Waste Medium-Density Fiberboard

open access: yesJurnal Sylva Lestari, 2020
The vast production of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) in the world is expected to generate a large quantity of waste MDF after its service life, which requires the recycling of waste MDF (wMDF).

The Effects of Waste‐Based and Thermal Energy‐Storing Building Materials on Sustainable Architecture: A Review

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
The utilization of waste‐based, thermal energy‐storing building materials in construction may help reduce the environmental impact of human activities. However, most studies on phase change materials (PCM) tend to concentrate on the basic properties of these materials, and thus fail to provide a comprehensive perspective on sustainability.

Image based colorimetric characterization of scrub induced color changes in UV printed and water transfer printed MDF boards

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología
Conventional colorimetric evaluation methods remain inadequate for accurately characterizing scrub-induced color changes on UV-printed and water transfer-printed decorative coatings applied to MDF after chemical resistance testing; therefore, this study ...

Drone‐based surveys improve estimates of tree hollow abundance and accessibility

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 6, Issue 1, January–March 2025.
Tree hollows are critical habitat for many species globally, yet common ground‐based surveys for hollows can be inaccurate, resulting in either over‐ or underestimating hollow abundance. Drone‐based surveys for hollows can help improve estimates of hollow abundance as well as confirm whether hollows are accessible to animals.

Influence of different climatic conditions on the roughness of uncoated medium density fiberboards (MDF)

open access: yesHolz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 2007
The surface roughness is primarily a function of the raw material properties, but other factors like type and amount of resin, press cycle, sanding and moisture content of the boards may also affect the roughness and other surface properties. In this study the effect of the equilibrium moisture content on medium density fiberboards (MDF) surfaces was ...

Modifying the Surface of Twisted Tapes With a Hydrophobic Coating to Enhance Their Performance in Parabolic Trough Solar Collector

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Twisted tapes are widely recognized as an effective passive method to enhance heat transfer in parabolic trough solar collectors. However, a major drawback is the substantial pressure drop caused by the high friction between the fluid flow and the tape surface.

Material property characterization of 3D printed polypropylene wood plastic composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 45, Issue 17, Page 16058-16074, 10 December 2024.
3D printed hexagons and specimens of polypropylene wood plastic composites. Abstract Wood flour (WF) at 10 wt.% and 20 wt.% loadings was used as a reinforcing filler to enhance the applicability of polypropylene (PP) for 3D printing. After performing printability tests of PP wood plastic composites (WPCs), the mechanical properties of both injection ...
