Understanding the domino reactions of alkyne-tethered N-tosylhydrazones yielding fused polycyclic pyrazoles. An MEDT study

Tetrahedron, 2019
Abstract The domino reactions of alkyne-tethered N-mesylhydrazones yielding fused polycyclic pyrazoles have been studied within the Molecular Electron Density Theory (MEDT). Analysis of the Gibbs free energies indicates that the more favourable reactive path is the one in which the elimination of mesylate anion takes place before the intramolecular ...

Photocatalytic activation of [3+2] cycloaddition for the sustainable and stereoselective assembly of spirooxindoles combined with MEDT mechanistic study

Journal of Molecular Structure
UV light irradiation enables the efficient and highly selective synthesis of spirooxindole cycloadducts through a photochemical activation of [3+2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction between ethylene derivatives and azomethine ylides (AYs) derived from substituted isatins and secondary amino acids in 3 hrs.

Understanding the molecular mechanism in a regiospecific [3+2] cycloaddition reaction including C-O interaction: A MEDT study

2018
The [3+2] cycloaddition (32CA) reaction between nitrone and an electronic deficient methyl acetylene carboxylate (MAC) was studied within the Molecular Electron Density Theory (MEDT) by using DFT functional combined with B3LYP and 6-31+(d,p) as a basis set.

Reactivity descriptors vs. reaction pathways in polar Diels–Alder reactions of 1-nitrocyclopentadiene: insights from MEDT

Molecular Physics
The predictive relationship between MEDT reactivity descriptors and the actual reaction pathways was investigated for the polar Diels – Alder reactions of 1-nitrocyclopentadiene with electrondeficient and electron-rich alkenes at the ωB97XD/6-311G(d) level.
