Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Understanding magma genesis through analysis of melt inclusions: application of innovative micro-sampling techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Melt entrapped as inclusions in early-formed phenocrysts provide geochemists with an exceptional opportunity to study sample material from the earliest stages in the formation of a suite of lavas.

Repacking Accelerates High‐Silica Melts Extraction: Insights From Microstructural Record and Numerical Modeling

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Repacking enhances crystal mush permeability, accelerating melt extraction. However, identifying microstructural records of repacking is challenging, creating a gap in quantifying its effect on magmatic reservoirs. We identified extracted melt (rhyolite)

Physics-guided spatiotemporal approach for melt pool size prediction in laser powder bed fusion

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
This study first proposes a physics-guided spatiotemporal graph. The melt pool temporal feature nodes and spatial feature nodes are extracted from melt pool images based on spatiotemporal correlations. These feature points are treated as graph nodes, and

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Melt extraction from a permeable compacting mantle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this thesis, I present one- and three-dimensional numerical solutions to a two-phase fluid flow problem. The context of these investigations is the evolution of a viscous permeable matrix with a small fraction of melt that is representative of partial

Continuous change monitoring of supraglacial lakes during melt and non-melt seasons with multi-source satellite imagery and deep learning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
The surface melting of ice sheets is gradually intensifying with rising global temperatures. Supraglacial lakes (SGLs), an essential component of the ice-surface hydrological system, are significant for the ice sheet mass balance. SGLs have been shown to

Geodynamic Models of Melt Generation and Extraction at Mid-Ocean Ridges [PDF]

open access: yesOceanography, 2012
It is widely accepted that plate divergence at mid-ocean ridges drives mantle flow, mantle melting, and the formation of new oceanic crust. However, many of the details of this process remain obscure because of the inaccessibility of the mantle to direct
