Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

On what Terms and why the Thermodynamic Properties of Polymer Solutions Depend on Chain Length up to the Melt

open access: yes, 2003
Theoretical considerations based on chain connectivity and conformational variability of polymers have lead to an uncomplicated relation for the dependence of the Flory-Huggins interaction parameter, chi, on the volume fraction of the polymer, phi, and ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Interdigitation between surface-anchored polymer chains and an elastomer : consequences for adhesion promotion

open access: yes, 2004
We study the adhesion between a cross-linked elastomer and a flat solid surface where polymer chains have been end-grafted. To understand the adhesive feature of such a system, one has to study both the origin of the grafted layer interdigitation with ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Influence of High-Temperature Treatment of Melt on the Composition and Structure of Aluminum Alloy

open access: yesArchives of Foundry Engineering, 2017
The aim of the current study was to examine the structure of an alloy treated at various temperatures up to 2,000-2,100 °C. Among research techniques for studying alloy structure there were the electron and optical microstructure, X-ray structure, and ...

Properties of microfibrillar cellulose filled thermoplastic natural rubber: Morphology, mechanical properties, and melt flow index

open access: yesMajalah Kulit, Karet, dan Plastik, 2020
Microfibrillar cellulose (MFC) was derived from local pineapple leaf fiber (PALF) and employed as filler in thermoplastic natural rubber (TPNR), that was a blend of natural rubber (NR) and polypropylene (PP).
