Lab-scale alloying experiments were carried out by first adding commercial low-carbon ferrochrome (LCFeCr) alloys and then adding ferroniobium (FeNb) alloys in 316-grade austenitic stainless steel in this study.

Frequency Dependent Rheology of Vesicular Rhyolite [PDF]
Frequency dependent rheology of magmas may result from the presence of inclusions (bubbles, crystals) in the melt and/or from viscoelastic behavior of the melt itself.

Understanding magma genesis through analysis of melt inclusions: application of innovative micro-sampling techniques [PDF]
Melt entrapped as inclusions in early-formed phenocrysts provide geochemists with an exceptional opportunity to study sample material from the earliest stages in the formation of a suite of lavas.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Effect of Nitrogen Content on the Formation of Inclusions in Fe-5Mn-3Al Steels
The effect of N content on the characteristics and formation of inclusions in the Fe-5Mn-3Al steels was investigated in this study. Two synthetic steel melts were produced by two different methods—N2 gas purging and injecting—to introduce nitrogen into ...

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Origin of alkali-rich volcanic and alkali-poor intrusive carbonatites from a common parental magma
The discrepancy between Na-rich compositions of modern carbonatitic lavas (Oldoinyo Lengai volcano) and alkali-poor ancient carbonatites remains a topical problem in petrology.
