Microwave-assisted heating behavior of amorphous SiC fibers derived from polycarbosilane

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
In this study, polymer-derived SiC fibers fabricated using low-melting point PCS (polycarbosilane) were prepared in a mat shape for application as a microwave-assisted heating element.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Can Pseudotachylytes Form via Fracture-Induced Decompression Melting Under Hydrous Conditions?

open access: yesTektonika
Frictional rock sliding and resultant shear heating along a fault plane are proposed as the necessary conditions to generate earthquake-related pseudotachylytes.

Evolution of melts and fluids during the crust and mantle formation in Neo-Archean—Paleo-Proterozoic. Stratigraphic effects

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2016
Evolution of composition of Precambrian magmatic and metamorphic rocks is related to directional change of deep fluids. It makes possible to use material composition of rocks as a sign for correlation.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Soft Confinement in Spherical Mesophases of Block Copolymer Melts

open access: yesMacromolecules, 2009
We report an extensive computational investigation on the dynamics of a simple bead−spring model for melts of diblock (AB) copolymers. Monomer displacements, end-to-end and bond reorientations, as well as relaxation of chain normal modes, are characterized both in the homogeneous phase and in the limit of strong segregation.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Self-Assembly of Microscale Parts through Magnetic and Capillary Interactions

open access: yesMicromachines, 2011
Self-assembly is a promising technique to overcome fundamental limitations with integrating, packaging, and general handling of individual electronic-related components with characteristic lengths significantly smaller than 1 mm. Here we describe the use
