Stochastic Dynamics of Electrical Membrane with Voltage-Dependent Ion Channel Fluctuations
Brownian ratchet like stochastic theory for the electrochemical membrane system of Hodgkin-Huxley (HH) is developed. The system is characterized by a continuous variable $Q_m(t)$, representing mobile membrane charge density, and a discrete variable $K_t$

MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for

Hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction: role of voltage-gated potassium channels
Activity of voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels controls membrane potential, which subsequently regulates cytoplasmic free calcium concentration ([Ca2+]cyt) in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs). Acute hypoxia inhibits Kv channel function in

Alteration of Zeta potential and membrane permeability in bacteria: a study with cationic agents
In the present study, we have tried to establish the correlation between changes in Zeta potential with that of cell surface permeability using bacteria (Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus).

TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Optical estimation of absolute membrane potential using fluorescence lifetime imaging
All cells maintain ionic gradients across their plasma membranes, producing transmembrane potentials (Vmem). Mounting evidence suggests a relationship between resting Vmem and the physiology of non-excitable cells with implications in diverse areas ...

Targeting Membrane Lipid a Potential Cancer Cure?
Cancer mortality and morbidity is projected to increase significantly over the next few decades. Current chemotherapeutic strategies have significant limitations, and there is great interest in seeking novel therapies which are capable of specifically ...

Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.
