Submerged hollow fibre membrane filtration with transverse and longitudinal vibrations

open access: yes, 2013
A comparative study of transverse and longitudinal vibrations of submerged hollow fibre membranes for fouling control was carried out in this paper. The same membrane module was adopted in the comparison, and the reactor geometry was identical.

Patterned ELR‐Gelatin Hydrogels Enable Rapid Endothelial Monolayer Formation via Bioactive Matrix Chemistry and Surface Topography

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐ and nano‐patterned elastin‐like recombinamer (ELR) hydrogels integrate bioactive matrix chemistry with defined surface topography. The combined cues promote rapid endothelial cell capture, alignment, and monolayer formation on soft substrates.

Multiphysics Simulator for the IPMC Actuator: Mathematical Model, Finite Difference Scheme, Fast Numerical Algorithm, and Verification

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
The article is devoted to the development and creation of a multiphysics simulator that can, on the one hand, simulate the most significant physical processes in the IPMC actuator, and on the other hand, unlike commercial products such as COMSOL, can use

The organizing potential of sphingolipids in intracellular membrane transport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Eukaryotes are characterized by endomembranes that are connected by vesicular transport along secretory and endocytic pathways. The compositional differences between the various cellular membranes are maintained by sorting events, and it has long been ...

Metallic spacers to enhance membrane distillation

open access: yes, 2018
Despite membrane distillation (MD) being well acknowledged as a green technology due to the capability to treat water using waste heat, the efficient use of this heat remains one of the biggest challenge for MD to be cost-effective.

Biphasic Co‐Delivery of Curcumin and 5‐FU using 3D‐Printed Dissolving Microneedles for Skin Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Using pixel‐aware digital light processing, the authors created high‐resolution, dissolvable microneedles from a PEGDA/VP matrix. These microneedles encapsulate curcumin and 5‐fluorouracil and dissolve in the skin, co‐delivering drugs directly to tumours.
