Lipidomics in research on yeast membrane lipid homeostasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mass spectrometry is increasingly used in research on membrane lipid homeostasis, both in analyses of the steady state lipidome at the level of molecular lipid species, and in pulse-chase approaches employing stable isotope-labeled lipid precursors ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Combination of ionic liquids with membrane technology: A new approach for CO2 separation

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents details of recent research progress on CO2 separation membranes and membrane processes using ionic liquids (ILs) over the past few years, including supported ionic liquid membranes (SILMs), poly(ionic liquid) membranes (PILMs), poly ...

Promotion Effect of Steam on Hydrogen and Oxygen Separation in Electrochemical Membrane Reactor: Investigation Under the Aromatization Reaction Temperature Window

open access: yesMembranes
Methane aromatization mainly proceeds at 650–750 °C. Simultaneous separation of hydrogen and oxygen can boost conversion efficiency and mitigate catalyst coking, yet most non-electrochemical membrane reactors fail to achieve synchronous hydrogen–oxygen ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Disassembly of chiral hydrogen-bonded frameworks into single-unit organometallic helices for enantioselective amyloid inhibition

open access: yesNature Communications
Chiral nanostructures hold transformative potential across diverse fields, yet their assembly construction remains hindered by the high entropic barrier of dissymmetric building units.

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...
